Ridgeview Takes 1st Place at CodeQuest

Please congratulate Kira H., Diego C. and Henry S. for taking first place in the Top-Level Advanced Division at the Lockheed Martin CodeQuest competition.  The team ran away from the field with 275 points, significantly outpacing the second and third place teams (220, 210 points respectively).  The competition attracts the largest public high schools and stem charter schools from the Denver metro area and greater Colorado region.  Both the 2nd and 3rd place teams were Denver area STEM/TECH charter schools.

The competition requires students to develop and code solutions to 24 problems of varying difficulty in 2.5 hours.   This year’s problem set ranged from simple logic problems, to implementing image compression, encryption and virtual reality eye-tracking algorithms, to more difficult problems of coding an app to solve Sudoku puzzles.  Ridgeview was the only team to successfully solve one of the most difficult problems, worth 50 points.
