Middle School

Ridgeview's Middle School (also referred to as the Intermediate School) encompasses grades 7-8.
Intermediate students begin to get a taste for the high school experience, without being lost in the crowd at a larger school.
Course offerings and electives are broadened, as well as the variety of extracurricular activities and events available for participation.

Ridgeview’s Middle School Curriculum

  • LATIN, GRAMMAR, AND LOGIC

At Ridgeview Classical Schools, middle school Grammar, Logic, and Latin instruction all strengthen vocabulary, reading comprehension, and critical thinking. As a core part of our classical education program, these classes help students build a deeper understanding of English while developing the analytical skills and intellectual discipline needed for success in high school and beyond.

  • PERFORMING ARTS

Middle school students at Ridgeview Classical Schools have the opportunity to explore their talents through a robust fine arts program, including orchestra, band, and choir. Students can further develop their creativity and confidence by auditioning for the annual middle school musical.

  • OUTDOOR EDUCATION

Students in grades 7-8 attend class trips to learn outdoor skills and foster friendships. In Middle School, the outdoor program continues to build on the skills learned in the elementary school, encourages a sense of responsibility and ownership for our local outdoor areas, and teaches students to work as a team to manage the needs of camp without the help of adult chaperones.

  • SOCIAL ACTIVITIES & CLUBS

Middle school students build meaningful friendships and a strong sense of community through social events designed specifically for 7th and 8th graders. Organized by the student council throughout the school year, favorite activities include movie nights, dances, and game days.

  • SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

Middle school students at Ridgeview engage in hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics experiences that foster curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Through a classical education approach, students develop a strong foundation in scientific inquiry while exploring real-world applications of STEM concepts. Enrichment opportunities, competitions, and collaborative projects encourage students to build confidence, pursue their interests, and prepare for future success.

  • NCIL ATHLETICS

Students in grades 6–8 have the opportunity to participate in a variety of competitive athletics, including cross country, boys and girls soccer, girls volleyball, boys and girls basketball, track and field, and flag football. Competing against other local charter and private schools, student-athletes develop teamwork, perseverance, leadership, and sportsmanship while building school spirit and lifelong healthy habits.

  • CHARACTER EDUCATION

At Ridgeview Classical Schools, the principles of our Character Pillars remain a central focus throughout middle school. Students are encouraged to demonstrate virtues such as integrity, responsibility, perseverance, and respect in both academics and daily interactions. Those who exemplify outstanding character and academic achievement may be recognized through the Student of the Term awards, reinforcing our commitment to developing thoughtful, productive citizens.

  • MIDDLE SCHOOL DAY

Each spring, middle school students at Ridgeview Classical Schools participate in Mini-Courses. This is an engaging opportunity to explore new interests beyond the traditional classroom. From dance and painting to bicycling and other hands-on experiences, these elective-style courses encourage creativity, curiosity, and personal growth. Students also enjoy dedicated time for lunch, games, and community-building, making Middle School Day a favorite tradition within our classical middle school program in Northern Colorado.
