Join us via Zoom at 8AM on Wednesday, May 13 as we discuss selections by Patrick Leigh Fermor. Please refer to the Nuntius for the Zoom link.
Patrick Leigh Fermor (1915-2011) was a British author, scholar, and soldier primarily known as a travel writer. A BBC journalist once described him as “a cross between Indiana Jones, James Bond and Graham Greene.” We will be reading an excerpt from The Broken Road: From the Iron Gates to Mount Athos published posthumously in 2013. The work narrates the final part of Fermor’s journey across Europe on foot from the Hook of Holland to Constantinople in 1933-34.
