Join us via Zoom as we discuss fairy tales by Andrew Lang at 8AM on Wednesday, April 29.
Andrew Lang (1844-1912) was a Scottish poet and literary novelist who studied at the University of St. Andews and Balliol College, Oxford. He was a poet and novelist and made significant contributions to the field of anthropology primarily through his collection of fairy tales from around the world. The first of these, The Blue Fairy Book, was published in 1889 and beautifully illustrated. We will be reading two fairy tales from this volume: East of the Sun and West of the Moon, a Norse fairy tale, and The White Cat originally recorded as La Chatte blanche by the Comtesse d’Aulnoy.
