Mrs. Nauman
Mrs. Nauman was born in Wisconsin and raised in Santa Barbara, California. She attended Colorado State University on a swimming scholarship, earning a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition, followed by a master’s degree and dietetic internship. Her passion for nutrition and athletics led her to conduct graduate research on the effects of carbohydrate ingestion during exercise on substrate oxidation during and following physical activity. Her and her professors’ findings were published in the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism.
After marrying her husband, Spencer, they moved to New York City and later to Nashville, Tennessee. Mrs. Nauman began her professional career as a Registered Dietitian in a dialysis clinic, where she taught patients with end-stage renal disease how to eat in ways that supported their health and well-being. After the birth of their first child, she embraced one of her most cherished roles—motherhood. She and her husband eventually returned to Colorado to raise their family.
Since her youngest child began kindergarten at Ridgeview in 2010, Mrs. Nauman has been deeply involved in the school community in a variety of roles. Beginning as a reading group volunteer, she quickly developed a strong appreciation for Ridgeview’s mission, philosophy, and classical curriculum. She went on to serve as a Classroom Volunteer Coordinator (CVC) in multiple elementary classrooms, later becoming the CVC Coordinator and a member of the Board of Directors. Ridgeview’s commitment to academic excellence and character education inspired her continued dedication to the school. As her children entered middle and high school, she missed the joy of working closely with younger students and returned to the classroom as a third-grade teaching assistant for a year. She is overjoyed to be part of the Student Services department, where she works with small groups of students to support their growth in reading, spelling, writing, and math.
Mrs. Nauman recently completed the training Building a Strong Foundation for Lifelong Literacy Success to better assist her students on their reading journey. She feels deeply grateful to work alongside a devoted team of administrators, faculty, and staff who share a passion for helping students reach their fullest potential.
In her free time, Mrs. Nauman enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She loves playing board games, sharing conversations around the family dinner table, and cheering on her children at their sporting events. She also finds joy in walking, hiking, reading, attending her students’ events, and volunteering in her church’s preschool classroom alongside her daughter.
