Mrs. Calvert
As an Upper School English Teacher, Mrs. Calvert has taught Classical Literature, British Literature, and American Literature. For the 2026-2027 school year, she will teach Seventh Grade Core Literature and Composition I and II.
She holds a bachelor's degree in English and a master's degree in English Literature. She first taught at Ridgeview from 2012 to 2017 before taking seven years to be a full-time, stay-at-home mom. She returned to Ridgeview as a substitute teacher for a year and is now excited to return to the classroom as an English teacher once again.
She and her husband live in Bellvue with their two Hoplite children and their two dogs, Finn and Poe. Outside of school, she enjoys plants and flowers, good coffee, and spending time with her family, especially when they are camping in the mountains.

Where were you born and where have you lived?
Kansas City, MO. I moved to Colorado in 2012 and haven't looked back since!
Where did you attend university or college?
I graduated from Truman State University with both my undergraduate and graduate degrees.
What kind of reading do you most enjoy doing?
The bigger the book the better! I love epic, multi-generational stories. The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese is one of my favorites.
What are the small essentials that make life more comfortable?
My morning coffee. Hummingbirds at our backyard feeder. Our son's quiet thinking. Our daughter's laugh. Cuddle puddles with my dogs.
What are your favorite snacks?
Palisade peaches from Rancho Durazno.
What do you do to unwind?
Trail running and hiking. Gardening. Sitting on our back deck looking at the garden. Being outside.
How could a parent volunteer help you most?
I think a parent volunteer could help me the most by helping with reading groups! The more elementary students read and are read to, the better readers they are in middle and high school!
