Mr. Salter
Where are you from and where have you lived?
I was born in Chicago. My family moved to Evergreen, CO when I was in 8th grade. In the Navy I lived in Illinois, Florida, Idaho, New Mexico, California, and Washington. Since leaving the Navy I have lived in Boulder, Windsor, Fort Collins, Detroit, MI, Pasadena, CA, and Zurich, Switzerland.
Where did you attend college or university?
I have a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Colorado.
What kind of reading do you enjoy most?
I enjoy reading classics. Books that have stood the test of time tend to be great reads.
What are the small essentials that make life more comfortable?
Time outside with my wife, kids, and dog (Lucy)
What are your favorite snacks?
Pecans, cashews, peanuts, and dried mango…
What do you do to unwind?
Run, Ski, Walk, Hike, anything outside.
How could a parent volunteer help you the most?
Any good example of math in their daily lives would be great, or a good math application you see in public. Math is a dry subject, but is around us all the time, and getting students to see math in practice helps with interest level and learning.
Why have you chosen to teach at Ridgeview specifically?
I am a big fan of the Socratic Method. Having dialog on a topic is very powerful to learning.
