Mr. Murrell
Mr. Murrell was born and raised in Washington State, where he grew up working on a farm and surrounded by a tight-knit community. One of eight siblings, those early years taught him the value of hard work, loyalty, and resilience. His early adult life was spent aboard two U.S. Navy ships—the USS Fife and the USS Camden—both homeported in Washington. He deployed to the South Pacific, the Persian Gulf, and off the coast of South America, serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and counter-narcotics missions.
After his time in the Navy, Mr. Murrell continued serving his community as a correctional officer for two years, followed by over thirteen years as a police officer. During that time, he worked in a variety of roles including the bicycle unit, riot team, SIU, undercover narcotics, and as a School Resource Officer (SRO), where he found purpose in mentoring youth and building meaningful relationships within the school environment.
Today, he carries that mission forward in new ways. Mr. Murrell serves as a mentor and sponsor for the Denver Rescue Mission, a Substance Abuse/PTSD Interventionist, and a Health and Wellness Coach. These roles allow him to walk alongside individuals in recovery, helping them rebuild their lives and rediscover their strength.
He is also a proud parent at Ridgeview and considers it an honor to be part of the safety and security team—protecting and supporting the students, staff, and families who make the community so special.
Mr. Murrell is passionate about personal development, health, and nonfiction reading. He believes deeply in the power of community and the importance of surrounding oneself with likeminded people.
To unwind, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and staying active. Family is his passion and his anchor. At Ridgeview, he welcomes parent volunteers who lead by example and help reinforce character building in students—support that truly makes all the difference.
