Q & A with Mr. Moore

Where were you born and where have you lived?
I was born in Carson City, Nevada but grew up in Longmont before moving to Steubenville, Ohio for my junior year of college before taking a sabbatical. I currently live in Johnstown with my wife.

Where did you attend university or college?

It’s a bit of a winding road but I started my academic career at the University of Colorado at Boulder after a deferred year at Front Range Community College. I transferred to The Franciscan University at Steubenville for my junior year before deciding to take some time off of school. I then went back and finished my degree through Arizona State University while working full time as a mechanic. I completed my master’s degree while at Ridgeview, also through ASU.

What kind of reading do you enjoy?
I really enjoy non-fiction as a category but specifically enjoy reading political philosophy, military history, biographies and intellectual history. And Calvin and Hobbes, of course.

What are the small essentials that make life more comfortable?
Whatever book I’m currently reading, the music of Alan Jackson, my lacrosse sticks, and automotive projects with my wife.

What are your favorite snacks?
Extra Toasty Cheez-Its (tough to beat “Toasties”!!), chocolate milk (whole milk, of course), and fruit, especially mangoes and raspberries.

What do you do to unwind?
Spending time with my wife is at the top of the list, but I also play lacrosse in a couple leagues, and enjoy working out and going to the gym. Tawny and I are currently restoring her 1971 Datsun 240z which is incredibly rewarding. It’s also tough beating just sitting and reading while my bunny, Cooper, sits with me.
