Mr. Conway, Literature Faculty
Mr. Conway grew up in Fort Collins attending Poudre High School. He received his undergraduate degree from St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The great books program there bestows its graduates with a degree in Liberal Arts. He then completed a Master’s Degree from the University of Chicago in Intellectual History. His thesis explored the working relationship between Francis Bacon and Thomas Hobbes. It argued that Hobbes’ experience working under Bacon informed his theory of the role of violence in his work: The Leviathan.
Since coming to Ridgeview, Mr. Conway has taught a variety of classes in the English Department including seventh-grade Literature and tenth-grade British Literature, and he has advised many Senior Theses. He has also been a leader of the Key Club and a coach on the school’s soccer teams.
Mr. Conway is also very involved in the community. He served on the board of Habitat for Humanity, the Historic Preservation Commission, and has organized in favor of affordable housing in Northern Colorado. You can find him reading at Wolverine Farms on the weekend where he hopes to one day be the reader in residence.
