Our Philosophy
Academic Potential & Personal Character
Since 2001, Ridgeview has focused on developing the academic potential and character of our students across grades K-12. We provide an environment that encourages the habit of thoroughness, the willingness to work, and the perseverance to complete difficult tasks. Through a defined traditional, classical, liberal arts curriculum, our students become active and responsible members of their community.
Character Education
From Kindergarten on, discussions about citizenship, cooperation, respect, responsibility, integrity, perseverance, and courage figure into lessons throughout the year. We believe these qualities are most important in developing active and responsible community members.
Preparing for the Road Ahead
While at Ridgeview, students take AP courses, SAT prep in the junior year, and they may take advantage of Dual Enrollment courses through CU Succeed. Additionally, our College Advising Office helps all students choose a path to pursue after graduation and make decisions best suited to their unique interests.
Liberal Arts Focus
Much of the elementary school curriculum is a modified version of a Core Knowledge sequence that builds the foundation for a classical, liberal arts education in the high school curriculum. A robust, spoken Latin program begins in Kindergarten, and a Greek program starts in the third grade.
The Outdoor Program
Our students develop a reverence for nature in Colorado’s great outdoors. Guided by faculty, we learn winter survival skills, orienteering, safe climbing practices, wilderness first aid, natural history, and more. We explore caves, go ice climbing, and hike 14ers, to develop skills for a lifetime of adventure.
