Congratulations to Oskar B., the 2021 RCS 6th-8th grade spelling bee champion!

Adapt, overcome, improvise!

Ten brave souls showed up in person and via Zoom on Thursday, January 7 to entertain us all with their spelling prowess and, while we know that was nerve-wracking for them, we appreciated their tenacity and good sportsmanship. Four spellers remained from round 7 through 11. Three spellers persisted until round 15, when Oskar B. correctly spelled that word and his championship word. We were nearly at the end of the book, so these words were not easy. Parker M. and Claire O. tied for 2nd place. Rebecca W. earned 4th place.

Congratulations and well done to all participants! We wish Oskar well on the PSD (online) Written Spelling Bee on February 2.
