E.T. Hoffmann (of Nutcracker fame) is one of the founders of Gothic horror. His Tales of Hoffmann is a wonderfully strange short story collection of dark fairy tales filled with imagination, mystery, and the supernatural. Hoffmann blends the fantastical with the unsettling, creating stories that feel dreamlike, eerie, and delightfully unpredictable. A fascinating read for anyone drawn to gothic fiction, surreal storytelling, and classic tales with a darker edge.
