A Good Start to the Holiday Season
Ridgeview kicked off the holiday season by celebrating Halloween with the community. We hosted our second annual Trick-Or-Treat Street, where hundreds of Ridgeview students, parents, and families from the larger Fort Collins community came together to enjoy Halloween in a safe yet really fun environment. Student Council, Ambassadors, and other student volunteers transformed the gym into a colorful carnival complete with games and a cake walk. Hallways in the elementary school were decorated with various themes such as 'Frankenstein' and 'Pirates' and volunteers had a blast dressing up and handing out candy to the many trick-or-treaters. I had a lot of fun volunteering at this event, dressing up in my Madrigals dress and handing out candy at a fairytale-themed door. I'm so glad Ridgeview decided to repeat this event because all of the kids certainly looked like they were enjoying themselves and we volunteers definitely did too!
On November 12, Ridgeview transitioned from Halloween to Thanksgiving, repeating another new tradition by hosting its second annual Turkey Shoot. Ambassadors and StuCo will join the administration, faculty, students, and families at Great Guns Sporting LLC for a fun fall day of shooting sports, face painting, and good food. We hope to see everyone out there!
Thanksgiving and, dare I say it, Christmas are coming up, and while that brings exams and busy schedules for us students, it also brings more events with our friends and teachers, festivity, good food, and plenty of cheer. I know I am looking forward to cozy sweaters, fires in the fireplace, hot chocolate, time with friends and family, and even the first of my college admissions decisions!
What are you looking forward to at the beginning of this holiday season?
