Mrs. Stanton

Portrait of Mrs. Megan Stanton, Business Manager at Ridgeview Classical Schools

Mrs. Stanton is a native of Fort Collins, although she spent twelve years of her early life in St. Louis after her parents divorced.  She returned to Fort Collins for high school and graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Microbiology.  After college, she worked in her field for the USDA and National Jewish Hospital but didn't love the isolation of laboratory life.  During this time, she became intrigued by the national conversation on the state of public education and the charter school movement, which was beginning to take off in Colorado.

She felt drawn to participate and went back to school to complete the necessary coursework to become a high school science teacher.  She taught for several years in the Denver metro area and became a devoted fan of the charter school concept.  After the birth of her oldest child, she left teaching to raise her family.  In her downtime, she developed an interest in accounting and went back to school again—this time to become a certified public accountant.  She worked part-time for a little over a decade in the world of public accounting before taking on her current role at Ridgeview as the Business Manager in 2022.

Mrs. Stanton first came to Ridgeview in 2013, when her two older children enrolled in the elementary school.  They were followed by their younger brother, who started kindergarten here the next year.  Her two older children have since graduated from Ridgeview, and her youngest is now attending our high school.

Over the years, Mrs. Stanton has served as a volunteer for the art department, participated in many elementary reading groups, served on the School Advisory Committee, and served as Treasurer of the Board of Directors from 2019-2022.

In her spare time, Mrs. Stanton enjoys walking all over town, finding ways to cook something fun with strange ingredients family and friends have given her, and working her way through her "to-read" list.  Her husband has told her she may not go back to school anymore, but she still enjoys learning new things and taking classes when she can!
