Mrs. Hogan
Mrs. Hogan serves as Ridgeview’s Student Services Interventionist, supporting students across all grade levels. She previously taught third grade before transitioning into her current role within Student Services.
Originally from Virginia, Mrs. Hogan was raised in a family that highly valued hard work, academic achievement, and strong character. While these principles guided her, it took time for her to distinguish between pursuing achievement and pursuing meaningful, fulfilling work. She first completed an undergraduate degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design with a focus in Business and Consumer Studies in 2016. Although she enjoyed the creative aspects of her studies, she found that the corporate world’s emphasis on materialism did not align with her deeper interests.
Her search for purposeful work eventually led her back to school, where she earned a Master’s in Education with a focus in Authentic Learning and Leadership in 2022—all while working full-time.
That same year, she and her husband moved from Virginia to Arizona as they prepared for their long-awaited relocation to Fort Collins. After falling in love with the area during a 2020 visit, they hoped to make it their permanent home. A search for schools in the community led her to Ridgeview, where she was encouraged to find an institution grounded in traditional values, committed to educating the whole student, and dedicated to building resilience in the next generation.
In her various roles at Ridgeview, Mrs. Hogan has been grateful to witness firsthand the impact of the school’s classical curriculum, outdoor program, and character education on students of all ages.
Outside of school—and in the spare time that remains since becoming a mother—she enjoys reading classic literature, theological and psychological philosophy, and a variety of fiction. She also enjoys creative pursuits such as drawing and crochet, as well as spending time with her family hiking and exploring Colorado.
Q & A with Mrs. Hogan
Where were you born and where have you lived?
I was born in Virginia and lived there most of my life. My husband and I moved to Arizona in January of 2022 to start a life out west and are now happily in Colorado!
Where did you attend university or college?
I received my bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in Fashion Merchandising and Design. Immediately after graduation I switched careers to Education and never looked back! I received my Master’s in Education from Mary Baldwin University.
What kind of reading do you most enjoy doing?
I love reading classic literature and have a hard time reading modern writing when there are so many timeless books I have yet to experience. My favorite author is William Somerset Maugham.
What are the small essentials that make life more comfortable?
The first sip of coffee in the morning, the smell of old books, bread rising on the counter, and the sounds of my steps on a trail help quiet my mind and fill me with peace.
What are your favorite snacks?
I’ll be honest, I have a pretty big sweet tooth. If it’s chocolate, I’ll probably be happy. If I’m not giving into my vices, however, I’m a sucker for a chips & dip situation.
What do you do to unwind?
Going to the gym, baking, and lacing up my hiking boots for a walk in the woods all help me better navigate stress and stay centered.
