Mr. Hickey

Mr. Hickey has been at RCS since August of 2024 after joining the Safety & Security Team (SST). He was born in Detroit, Michigan and lived in various cities in Michigan. He grew up in a family of seven children. He was raised by two incredible parents that instilled many of the virtues instilled in our RCS community.

He attended the University of Madonna in Livonia, Michigan and graduated with a B.A. in Criminal Justice. In 2008, he completed his M.S. in Organizational Leadership & Administration at Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Mr. Hickey spent 32 years in law enforcement in Michigan. Prior to his 25 years of service with the Ann Arbor Police Department, he worked for the F.B.I.-Detroit Office, Wayne State University Police, and the Pittsfield Township Police Department. Mr. Hickey also has a background in Emergency Management both with the City of Ann Arbor and Colorado State University.

Throughout his career in Ann Arbor, Mr. Hickey was heavily involved in school-based programs and community engagement and outreach. Mr. Hickey was a proponent of community-oriented policing. During his tenure in Ann Arbor, he was involved in numerous schools based educational programs taught by police officers and created the first ever Juvenile Graffiti Removal Program in Michigan.

Mr. Hickey has been a youth mentor throughout his career and worked with young people incarcerated in Juvenile Detention facilities. He is a supporter of Restorative Justice practices and was a volunteer for the City of Fort Collins Restorative Justice Program.

Outside of Ridgeview, Mr. Hickey enjoys volunteering for Larimer County as a Volunteer Ranger Assistant and enjoying outdoor activities and hiking on the endless trails in NOCO.

Mr. Hickey and his wife of 34 years are fortunate to live close by their adult children, son-in-law, and amazing grandson.
