Dr. McMahon, Literature Faculty
Dr. McMahon has taught a variety of courses at Ridgeview, including Honors Modern Literature, Senior Capstone, Honors American Literature, Junior Capstone, Honors British Literature, Honors Classical Literature, Logic, and Grammar. His electives include The Lord of the Rings, C. S. Lewis, The Literature of the Bible, and Dante’s Divine Comedy.
He earned his Ph.D. in Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he also completed his M.A. in Literature. Before earning his doctorate, Dr. McMahon taught high school, later spending 21 years teaching at the university level. After retiring from higher education, he returned to his first passion—teaching high school—joining Ridgeview through connections made at Liberty Fund Conferences.

Works in philosophy, theology, and poetry.
